Your Season is Over

Scripture: Philippians 3: 13- 14
Brethren, I do not regard myself as having laid hold of it yet; but one thing I do forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead. (14) I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call in Christ Jesus.
How many of you felt like you were the Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz she followed the yellow brick Road? She ran through endless fields on her journey to the land of Oz seeking help and wisdom from the all powerful wizard she said her hope on this one source to find answers to her trouble search for Home I am shameful to say that I had some bitterness, unloving and unforgiving feelings toward my siblings, why? did it hurt and why did they hurt me? to the core, they hurt my father, and my mother. I have one brother and two sisters that is alive and well. Praise God! I have two brothers and one sister that I have went home to be with the Lord many years ago. Lord knows
I knew that the four of us are loving and kind to one another. when my parents got sick I I saw the spirit of greed, selfishness and control in 2011 - 2015 My father went home to be with the Lord in 2013 and a mom in 2014 but doing that time it was too rough.
My sisters and brother stepped in and took over my parents affairs, and didn’t want me to be a part of their lives, the properties, land, and our fish market business. My inheritance was in their hands. I was in a storm, one that was no avoiding.
and I’m sure you all have some of them in your families too.and so we can’t say that I don’t have family members like that because you really never know until a storm hits you family home. When the enemy comes in like a flood the Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him. Isaiah 59:19 (NKJV) I was bitter, unloving, and
unforgiving. I prayed, and I prayed I said here God here is my request I ask God to forgive me I ask my siblings to forgive me today I have repented. Y’all I repented I woke one day with joy and from that day God did it! He released those burdens from me bitter, unloving and unforgiving. I got cordiality, Love, forgiveness in my soul, what a life? Here Apostle Paul reminds me one thing I do forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead I pressed towards the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Breaking up from the past All things new Church folks, church goers we are in a season of change at Wood Memorial Chapel and many other churches local and the community. New, chaplains, new pastor, new leadership, new administration, some old administration, old member, and new members.
The Corinthian church demonstrated immaturity. They were “babies”in Christ 1Corinthian 12:1 Part of their immaturity was evidenced in dividing themselves into groups who are the Followed Paul or Apollos. Apollos was a gifted preacher whom we know much more about, founded the church there in Corinth.
Paul insisted that he and Apollos were God instruments, they weren’t competitors, but Partners and the God who bless their labor is to be honored.
Paul’s further explained the church is like a Field for the sowing of seed with the expectation of harvest and a building not a physical building but a spiritual one constructed with the expectation of harvest, and a building.
Paul openly communicated his priorities. All the trophies and culture of his pass he counted as rubbish, in order to gain Christ. He wanted to know Christ, experience His power shared in and complete His suffering and ultimately be conformed to His death, (Phil. 3:10,11)
He did all of this for the purpose of attaining the resurrection. Here is a man on a mission Paul narrow his wedge and his focus to the essentials.
◦ He discern what hinder him Paul had to let go of all the things he wants cherished considering them distraction to grace
◦ he discovered what he wanted Paul wanted God‘s righteousness not his song Christ became his soul ladder Solitary pursuit
◦ He determine how to get it with single - minded passion, Paul forgot the pass and pursued the prize of his call
What is God calling you to do? As we walk into our serving position in the church, our ministry with our passion to serve. Breaking free from the past, God uses different leaders in the church according to their abilities to strengthen the work. None is greater than another.
Members of the church benefit from those who sow the seeds of the gospel, and members of the church benefit from those who construct a house of God. We labor together to honor him. As I leave you with this scripture, “For “For we are God’s fellow workers; you are God’s field,
God’s building.”are laborers together with God: ye are God’s husbandry, ye are God’s building 1 Corinthians 3:9 let’s go in for your father I am grateful for those who were investing their gifts and helping one and helping me to come to Christ and to grow to maturity I pray your blessings of faithful laborers. in Jesus name!
